How to Share Workbooks in Excel 2013 Tutorial
If you are working on a workbook in Excel and you have completed a part of work and another part is supposed to be completed by your friend, but the problem is your friend is too far away from you, like in another city. Now, the problem is to send this Workbook to your friend, and excel makes it easy for you. Excel 2013 provides you different ways to share your files with people you want. In past whenever you needed to share a file with someone, you have to attach it on email, that also create multiple versions of file that obviously difficult to organize. But Excel 2013 provide you facility of SkyDrive to Share your files.
This means when you share a File or Workbook using Excel 2013, you give access to the others to view and make changes to that same file. When someone edit and make changes to that file it will be updated on SkyDrive and you will see the changes.
How to Share a Workbook
To share your Workbook you have to put it to the SkyDrive. Follow the steps below.
- Click on File tab and then click Share.
- A Share Panel will appear, here you can see several options.
Here you can invite people to view your workbook and make changes to your workbook. Invite People option is selected by default whenever you access Share Panel.
How to Get Sharing Link
This option is to get a sharing link to give people you want to see and share your workbook. You can post this link anywhere and share with large number of people. And you can decide what privileges people will have, like just view or make changes to file.
- Click on Get a Sharing Link from Sharing Panel. A side portion will Appear, that will be showing you two options, one for View Link another for Edit Link. View link is for just read me purpose, people having this link can only view your workbook, and people having Edit link can also change your workbook. You can click on Create Link to get a sharing link.
How to Post on Social Network
Now a days Social Networks are backbone of internet. It is a really good way to share anything to anyone you know. From Post to Social Network option. But you have to connect your social network account with Microsoft account. Such a facebook and Linkedin. Here you also have to send a personel message along with file sharing and you can also set editing permissions.
If you are not connected with you social account you can connect it by clicking on Click Here to Connect with Social Network .
If you want to Email Workbook you can use this option to share your workbook directly through Microsoft Outlook 2013. When you Click on Email option it shows you several options. You can use any option you feel comfortable with.
You can send as Attachment, and many other options.
