Excel Tips Tutorial: Vertical Alignment in Excel (Top, Center, Bottom, Justify, and Distributed)
Vertical alignment is useful when you have adjusted the height of a cell. There are 5 different vertical alignment commands in Microsoft Excel, Top, Center, Bottom, Justify, and Distributed. The top, center and bottom align commands are made available on the ribbon, but if you want to apply justify or distributed you will need to access the Cell Format dialog box. To learn how to apply vertical text alignment including the justify and distributed options simply follow the steps below.
Step 1: Activate the cell or range of cells you want to format.
Step 2: Press CTRL+1 to open the Format Cells dialog box.
Step 3: Once the Format Cells dialog box is open make sure that the Alignment tab is activated.
Step 4: Locate the Vertical Alignment drop-down menu in the Text Alignment group .
Step 5: Select the vertical alignment option of your preference and click OK.
