Excel Tips Tutorial: How to add a Background Image (Picture) to an Excel Worksheet
Excel allows you to add background images to your Excel worksheet. This may be useful for the cover sheet of a large Excel workbook that contains multiple worksheets. I often use the background image to apply the company name to the background of my worksheets. To learn how to add background images to your Excel worksheets follow the instructions below.
Select the Page Layout tab and click the button titled Background in the Page Setup group. In Excel 2013 a new window will appear offering you options to Insert Pictures From a File, Office.com Clipart, Bing Images, or from your Skydrive.. You can do a search for what kind of image you are looking for in Office.com or Bing images or you can browse your own files either on your computer or on your SkyDrive. Once you select your image and click Insert the image will be applied as the background of your Excel worksheet. If you are using Excel 2010 or an even older version a file window will appear where you can choose images located on your computer files. If you want to use images from Office.com Clipart or from Bing images you can save the images to your computer first.
Background images will make your file size much larger so just keep this in mind if you plan on emailing it to somebody. Also, graphics in Excel are for onscreen view only and will not be printed out if you print your worksheet.
