Excel Tips Tutorial: How to Convert a PDF File to Editable Excel File

“Able to extract” is very useful software that converts PDF files in Ms Word, Excel, Power point, HTML and even in text format very effectively.
After downloading the software from the above link, install the software and run the program.
Go to step 1 i.e. open the PDF file which you want to convert into editable Excel format. After opening the file, you must select the data you want to convert, this can be done by dragging the mouse though the data, if you want to select all the data of the PDF file, use Ctrl+A to select all.
After selecting all the data, click on the “E” button, which is the fourth button of the screen.
There are two options of converting the PDF file into Excel
Automatic method generates Excel output based on the table structure of the selected table from original document whereas Custom method enables users to specify the column structure within a table prior to conversion.
I’ll go for Custom method to teach you how to specify column structure with in a table prior to conversion.
Adding lines: Click your mouse Right Button to add a line
Removing lines: Double right click on the line to remove the line.
Re-positioning lines: Position must pointer over line, hold down mouse right button and move in desired direction.
After specifying the column structure, select the data and press the “E” button again to convert into editable Excel format.
After pressing “E” button you will get the output within seconds. You can now edit any file.
